I’ve been up the whole night playing around with Typo as a Wordpress alternative - and just take a look:
I think I’m in love… Here’s why:
The URLs are search-friendly thanks to Ruby on Rails
They’ve got really neat templates!
AJAX come with Typo out of the box! You’ve got to check out the Live Search functionality…
It’s in Ruby on Rails - which is a language I’m learning right now for fun
Expect a migration soon enough - I’m going to attempt to tweak the Origami template with my own signature stamp. Drawback however is that installation isn’t easy - you’ll have to know a bit of database and a bit of Ruby to install it - and look for a host (Dreamhost - highly recommended!) that supports Ruby.
Otherwise - expect a new site soon from me!
