Saw this police poster at Sim Lim and reminded me of something a colleague said to me - “Why aren’t there any policemen in Singapore?”. Mind you he was absolutely freaked out by that fact (plus he was an expat who mostly saw the town areas and recently moved here). Struck me as interesting, and effective:
It actually freaks people out a lot more if the police aren’t seen - makes people think that there are even more people watching your every move. Ironically, the fact that police are unseen I think contributes even more to the “Big Brother” freakiness of Singapore. Of course, I don’t feel that way, but I’m just trying to see it from an outsider’s point of view.
Worth a thought if you want to police your own company or peons in your office!

cool site adrian… i cant believe i only just knew it !
yea totally agree about the invisible police force part. Changi Airport is one of the few airports in the world that doesnt stop you to check ur luggage too often.. but ooh they know.. they so know if u are up to no good… somebody is watching.
